This week our spotlight is turning to Marisa Adams of DDC Charity Solutions. So Marisa, tell us about yourself…
Job Title? Charities Administrator
Where do you work? DDC CS Worksop
How long have you been there?
Almost 5 years working for DDC OS, and nearly 3 years in Charities.
Talk us through a typical working day for you?
I process donations on a daily basis, for Christian Aid. I handle donations through both postal and the donation line. I also process the white mail, thank you letters, fulfilment, and make sure these are sent out each day.
I also do the training for Christian Aid/Present Aid, ensuring each operator & administrator is trained to a high standard, following procedures set out by the client.
What do you think is great about DDC?
I enjoy the job that I do very much, and the people who are employed at DDC are very friendly, it’s like a family unit.
What did you do before DDC?
I worked as a waitress but not in a cocktail bar! It was for a local pub/restaurant
Who do you work closest with at DDC?
I work closest with Dave Evans, Darren Hill, and my lovely colleagues Peter, Chloe and Will who are also part of the Christian Aid team.
Who would be your ultimate dinner guest?
It has to be Brian Clough! I am a Forest fan, and always liked the way he was outspoken and controversial, not to everyone’s liking, but it wouldn’t do for us all to be the same. I would like to know how he became the successful manager he was, and what it was that gave him the determination.
If you had a superpower what would it be?
I would like to have the same powers as Supergirl, I enjoy helping others less fortunate than myself, and I would love to have a magic wand to give them a good quality of life.
Would you ever bungee jump or skydive?
I would do a skydive, I love flying.
What is on your iPod currently?
I enjoy listening to live music, I have a varied interest, from Il Divo to Bryan Adams.
Where is the farthest you have been from home?
It has to be Tenerife because it took 4 hours to fly there from East Midlands airport.
